I can't answer about your email, but you should wait until you only have a day or two on your current subscription remaining before activating your new product as the remaining days will not automatically add to your new license. Uninstalling from Add/Remove programs in the normal way should suffice. If your current copy is running OK there isn't really any need to use the Norton Removal Tool.
